This artwork by Amany Fakhry is a surreal and abstract portrait that merges fragmented forms into hauntingly expressive faces.
Two human faces dominate the composition, partially obscured and intertwined with flowing, ribbon like shapes that cut across the canvas. The features are sharply rendered yet incomplete, as if emerging from shadows or being concealed by masks. The left face appears more fragmented, with colorful geometric textures and brushstrokes in shades of blue, orange, and yellow breaking across it. The right face, though more intact, is pale and somber, with deep, reflective eyes that seem to hold unspoken emotions.
The background is stark black, heightening the contrast and giving the impression that these figures exist in a void. The layered textures and flowing curves evoke feelings of duality, inner conflict, and the many hidden layers of identity.
It is a powerful visual metaphor for the fractured self where beauty, sorrow, and mystery coexist within the same visage.
